Contemporary Groove 2. "Nostalgia" Sus2 Substitution and Broken-Open-Voicing

Nostalgia uses a simple but really effective concept: the 9 for the 1

Every time we play a chord we 9th (or 2nd which is the same) is available as an substitute for the root (in C minor that would be D and in Eb an F)

So let's substitute the root of the chord on the right hand with the 2nd (or 9th) and play a see-saw eighth-note pattern. As a variation we can add the 9th (or 2nd) to the chord and keep the root.
In this example we are going to play a broken open voicing on the left hand using: root, fifth and the third above. (quarter quarter half)
